Catchup
Okay so I went to my hometown this past weekend because our "Bonus Sister" is having a baby! We call her our bonus sister because she is my sister's best friend and lived with us for a short while. Now, (we'll call her L) L is not a girly girl like my sister and I. She is super smart, down to earth and a liiiiitle bit of a tom boy I'd say. She is hard working and her and her husband J are going to be AWESOME parents! Now those of you who know me know that I have had the baby fever since about 2 months BEFORE my wedding. This fever has come and gone since then but knowing my bonus sister is about to have her baby pushed me over the edge. You guys....I shopped like I have never shopped before. The associates at The Children's Place must have thought I was the one pregnant because I bought so much stuff. I just couldn't stop. Everything was so tiny and precious. The one rule that L gave me was Not too pink or filly, just because she is a girl doesn't mean that everything has to be pink and frilly. Do you know how hard that was?!?!?!
Needless to say, I survived and when I got home on Friday my sister and I were inside out excited about the next day's events. We got up early, got ready and then hit target...JUUUUUUUUST in case we missed something. This is where the genius idea came in. We decided to make her a Baby Emergency Kit. It isn't as serious as it sounds. BUT we did get a cute tupperware box and filled it to the brim with anything and everything she could ever forget. The idea was, L can keep this little box 'o goodies in her trunk, that way if she ever forgets anything for baby Sophia she has everything with her! Here's what we included:
- Diapers (a few each of Size 1 and Size 2, appropriately labled)
- 2 Pacifiers (in a cute little carrying case)
- Baby Ibuprofine
- Single Use Orajel swabs for when she starts teething
- Back up Outfit (white teeshirt and lavender fleece pants)
- Booger wipes
- Hand/Face wipes
ButtBottom wipes- Sweet potato puffs (these apparently keep for up to a year while sealed)
- Baby sunscreen
- Johnson & Johnson baby kit (powder, shampoo, oil, desitin etc.)
So now the fever is back...in full force and I am trying to restrain myself. Josh and I are ready for kids but with my new promotion at work I feel really torn because I LOVE my job and I am just not ready to give that up. Just don't judge me if the next few posts are baby related :) kay?? Stay tuned...my next post is on the DIY Pallet Wine Rack
Until next time...
